Centennial Medical Center will soon be jointly owned by Baylor Scott & White Health.

The Frisco hospital, which is owned by Tenet Healthcare Corp., is one of five North Texas Tenet hospitals partnering with Baylor Scott & White Health, according to a Tenet news release.

Baylor Scott & White will hold a majority ownership interest in all five hospitals and the hospital names will be changed to reflect the Baylor Scott & White brand, according to the release.

The other four hospitals in the merger include Doctors Hospital at White Rock Lake, Lake Pointe Medical Center, Texas Regional Medical Center at Sunnyvale and Baylor Medical Center at Garland.

Tenet will continue to manage the operations of Centennial Medical Center. The leadership of the hospital and employees are expected to change little, if any, according to the release.

The hospital partnerships will be governed by a jointly appointed board of managers and each hospital will have a governing board, independent medical staffs and independent leadership staffs.

No timeline for the name change was given in the release.

Baylor Scott & White is the largest nonprofit health care system in Texas, which includes 49 hospitals and 35,000 employees.

Tenet Healthcare is a national healthcare services company that operates 80 hospitals as well as Conifer Health Solutions, which provides health care business process services.
