A runoff election occurs when no candidate in a race receives more than 50 percent of the vote. The top two vote-getters in such a race advance to a runoff.

After the March 6 primary elections, there are several runoffs.

Kimberly Fitzpatrick will run against Pat Gallagher for district judge, 342nd Judicial District, on the Republican ballot. Also, Mike Snyder and Wendy Burgess will face off for Tarrant County tax assessor-collector to become the Republican nominee. There will also be a runoff between Republicans Chris Ponder and Patricia Cole for judge, County Probate Court at Law No. 1.

If you did not vote in the March 6 primary elections, you can still vote in the May 22 primary runoff elections. If you voted in the March 6 primary elections, you must vote with the same party in the May 22 runoff elections.

Early voting for the May 22 primary runoff election runs from May 14-18.
