Grapevine-Colleyville ISD has reversed its earlier decision to host its home games at the redesigned Mustang-Panther Stadium, according to a news release sent out Tuesday.

Previously, it was announced the Colleyville Heritage and Grapevine football teams were scheduled to play their first official home games of the season on Sept. 28 and Oct. 5, respectively, at Mustang-Panther Stadium as renovations continued; however, excessive rainfall in recent weeks—coupled with the possibility of more in the forecast—has caused additional delays.

“In order to provide construction crews uninterrupted work time to make further progress, we are proactively moving the next four home games,” Superintendent Robin Ryan stated in the news release. “I understand how disappointing this news will be, especially for our students, staff, parents and community. I want to reassure you that we explored every option and worked tirelessly in an attempt to move forward as planned. It is our hope that by providing additional uninterrupted work time, we will be still able to play football this season in Mustang-Panther Stadium.”

Ryan said more updates will be forthcoming in October.
