From economic development to new trash and recycle rates, take a look at what is happening this week in Grapevine, Colleyville and Southlake.

1. Goodbye Forest Park Medical Center, hello Methodist Southlake Hospital
Methodist Health System will officially open Methodist Southlake Hospital, formerly Forest Park, with a private dedication Tuesday. In May, Methodist paid $9 million in cash and assumed about $8.6 million in secured debt to obtain the hospital. It owns 51 percent of the operating company with the physician investors retaining 49 percent.

2. Portion of Cotton Belt Trail in Colleyville to be closed
Cotton Belt Trail, from the Pleasant Run Soccer Complex to John McCain Road, will be closed Monday through Wednesday for tree trimming. The closure is in response to safety concerns as crews will trim overhead tree limbs along the trail and have an on-site chipper truck. The rest of the trail will remain open.

3. Find out what is new in Grapevine
At 8 a.m. Wednesday, the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce will host a economic development partnership meeting on the second floor of Grapevine City Hall, 200 S. Main St., Grapevine. During the meeting, guests will hear reports on new businesses, transportation updates and events from city officials. The meeting will end no later than 9 a.m.

4. Southlake residents to see increase in trash and recycling rates
Beginning Oct. 1, Southlake residents will see an increase of 1.02 percent reflected on their water bills. The breakdown for a residential consumer is $9.60 per month for trash service, $3.84 per month for recycling service and $1.11 for tax. This represents a total increase of $0.15 for residential customers for a total rate per month of $14.55.
The new rates include trash collection two times per week, automated recycling collection once a week, bagged grass collection, scheduled curbside leaf recycling, two household hazardous waste collection events per year, bulk collections and bundled brush collections.
