Central Market officials today announced that while two new Dallas stores will open, the former Grapevine Sun Fresh Market location will likely not open as an H-E-B or Central Market.
H-E-B/Central Market in September purchased six Sun Fresh Market stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including one on William D. Tate Avenue in Grapevine. The Sun Fresh Market store subsequently closed.
“We purchased the entire package of properties in order to acquire the Midway Road and
McKinney and Lemmon Avenue [Dallas] locations,” Mabrie Jackson, director of public affairs at Central Market said in a news release. “We have since sold the Mockingbird Lane and Abrams Road location to Lincoln Properties, and plans for the remaining three stores are under evaluation. However, these will likely be sold or leased to other retail tenants."
Central Market operates seven stores in North Texas.
