Tickets are now available online for the public for The Star in Frisco's grand opening event Aug. 27, presented by Whataburger. The event will feature match-ups between all eight Frisco ISD varsity football teams in an all-day celebration that will include FISD marching bands, cheerleaders and drill teams.

Tickets went on sale to FISD students, parents and employees on June 2, and nearly 10,000 tickets have already been sold.

“This is the hottest ticket in town, and it was imperative our students, families and staff were the first to purchase tickets,” FISD Superintendent Jeremy Lyon said in a news release.“This venue presents increasing opportunities for students from programs including athletics, fine arts and broadcast journalism, and will continue doing so long into the future.”

Charlotte Jones Anderson, executive vice president and chief brand officer of the Dallas Cowboys said it was important that the first players of the Ford Center were FISD students.

"[The kickoff] celebrates the important relationship that we've built between the city of Frisco, the Frisco ISD and the Dallas Cowboys, and what better way to showcase that relationship than a true kickoff with high school football and the student athletes who embody the passion of football in the state of Texas," Anderson said in a press release.

There will be four games divided into two sessions and the schedule is as follows:

Session I

  • 9 a.m.: Independence High School vs. Reedy High School

  • 12:30 p.m.: Lone Star High School vs. Heritage High School

Session II

  • 5:30 p.m.: Wakeland High School vs. Liberty High School

  • 8:30 p.m.: Centennial High School vs. Frisco High School

Tickets for each session will be $6 for students and $12 for adults. Tickets can be purchased online at www.dallascowboys.com/TheStarKickoff, tickets.friscoisd.org, or by using cash or credit at the FISD athletic office.

The Star is the 91-acre development that will be home to the Dallas Cowboys World Corporate Headquarters and where all FISD high schools will play home football games. The Ford Center, The Star's 510,000 square-foot indoor athletic facility, will be shared amongst the Dallas Cowboys, the city of Frisco and FISD.
