Health officials in Collin County confirmed five new cases of COVID-19 in Frisco on April 21.

That brings the city's total number of cases to 122, though 77 Frisco residents have recovered. Of the total cases in the city, 74 are from Collin County, and 48 are from Denton County.

Collin County Health Care Services announced the death of an 86-year-old McKinney woman with underlying health conditions and COVID-19 on April 21. That brings the county's total number of coronavirus-related deaths to 14.

"We extend our deepest sympathies to her family and friends," Collin County Judge Chris Hill said in a statement. "It is always sad to learn of the death of another member of our Collin County community."

In addition, Collin County health officials confirmed 26 new cases of COVID-19 on April 21. That brings the county's total number of confirmed cases to 570, though 383 Collin County residents have recovered from the virus, according to health officials. There are currently 173 active cases in the county.


Denton County Public Health announced April 21 that a Lewisville man in his 60s had died due to COVID-19, bringing the county’s total number of coronavirus-related deaths to 18.

“As we report the loss of an eighteenth life to COVID-19 in Denton County today, please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers,” Denton County Judge Andy Eads said in a statement. “We know that each life lost to COVID-19 is one too many.”

Officials also confirmed an additional 21 cases of coronavirus in Denton County, though none were in Frisco. That brings Denton County’s total number of confirmed cases to 619. Of those, 258 residents who were diagnosed with the virus have recovered in Denton County, and 343 cases remain active, according to public health officials.
