The search for a new superintendent and a new development in downtown Frisco are two big things that will be discussed in meetings this week. Here are three things to know this week:

Frisco ISD board of trustees to select firm for superintendent search

The FISD board is expected to vote on an executive search consulting firm for the search for the next superintendent. The board has narrowed down its options to four firms: Thomas & Horton LLP; Ray & Associates, Inc.; Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates; and Jenny Preston Educational Consulting. The board will meet at 2 p.m. Monday for executive session and to hear presentations from each firm. The regular meeting is expected to begin at 7:30 p.m. at the FISD Administration Building, 5515 Ohio Drive.

Plans for downtown Frisco development to be presented to Planning and Zoning Commission

The commission will see the preliminary site plan for The Patios at The Rail at the southeast corner of South County Road and Main Street. Plans for the development include two buildings with rooftop patios, a rooftop park, restaurants, and an event center as well as retail and office space. The development is planned for the former location of Double Dip Frozen Custard. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Frisco City Hall, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd.

No school on Friday

FISD schools will be closed for Easter weekend beginning Friday. Some city offices may also close Friday. Check back later for a list of city closures.
