1. Early voting begins Monday
Early voting for the November general election begins Monday and will run through Nov. 4. Election Day is Nov. 8. Click here for information about voting locations and candidates for the general election.
2. Frisco Planning and Zoning Commission to vote on big-box retail, apartments and hotels
The commission will discuss several new proposed developments during its regular meeting Tuesday. The developments include an 83.8-acre, mixed-use development on the southwest corner of US 380 and FM 423; a 260-unit urban living complex in Frisco Square; and two proposed hotels within the Frisco Station development.

3. Frisco ISD holds first Priorities-Based Budget Stakeholder Committee meeting
The first meeting for this new FISD committee will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Career and Technical Education Center training rooms, 9889 Wade Blvd.
The 28-member committee is charged with providing feedback as the district works to create a tighter budget for the 2017-18 school year. The committee members include FISD employees, parents and community members.
The committee was formed after voters turned down a proposed property tax increase that would have helped make up a $30 million state funding shortfall the district will experience next year.
During its first meeting, the committee will learn about FISD's budget process and brainstorm ways the district can save money and set priorities. For more information about the committee, visit www.friscoisd.org.
4. Frisco Economic Development Corp. conducting community survey
The FEDC is conducting a community survey as part of its comprehensive economic development strategy planning process.
The goal of the economic development strategy, called Strategic Frisco, "is to further enhance Frisco's economy to ensure it is robust and sustainable for many years to come." Planning for the development strategy began in September and runs through February 2017.
