Construction to rebuild Austin Avenue Grill & Sports Bar started in February 2015 and is expected to be complete in early 2016. In July 2011, the restaurant was destroyed by a fire. The new sports bar and grill will be larger than its previous space of 12,600 square-feet but will be under the same ownership.

Darcy Dudley of Allen partnered with Dallas restaurateur Tre Wilcox to open Julia Pearl Southern Cuisine. Named after Dudley and his wife’s grandmothers, the restaurant is set to open in early February and will feature classic and contemporary Southern dishes influenced by Dudley’s family.
