The Ablon @ Frisco Square will be a Class A multifamily apartment community, built east of Forest Park Medical Center and northwest of Pizzeria Testa on 3.41 acres, according to marketing director Jennifer Smart.
Plans are to break ground on the apartments sometime this year and have it complete by late 2015.
The apartment community will include 287 for–rent apartments, featuring one– and two–bedroom apartments.
It will be constructed in a "wrap" configuration, around a structured parking garage and other amenities, including a resort–style clubhouse and pool with TV lounges, dining areas and outdoor fireplaces.
"It will have an inviting feel that fuses with future surrounding development," Smart said. "The spirit of the project is to blend modern luxuries with influences and elements of the past wrapped in lush landscaping in order to create an attractive building."
Architecture characteristics will include a simple, light-colored masonry facade with some natural stone and brick, balconies on all units, and coastal vegetation including citrus, herbs and palms.
The community features two rectangular courtyards. One has a resort–style pool overlooked by a sun deck with a cabana, outdoor kitchen and eating area complete with a barbecue grill covered by wooden shade structures. The other courtyard will be a garden with a water feature and an outdoor fireplace.
