The ordinance revises speed limits on sections of Coit Road, Cotton Gin Road, Gaylord Parkway, Hillcrest Road, Network Boulevard and Panther Creek Parkway.
Speed limits are established either by a speed study or a trial run. In September 2007, the city council adopted an ordinance to establish speed limits within Frisco.
Because of new roadway construction and updated speed studies, city staff recommended modifying the speed limit on a few sections of roadway.

The district provides busses to students who live within two miles of their school. The exception was created to get students, especially those crossing six-lane roadways with speed limits more than 45 mph, to school more safely, FISD communications facilitator Meghan Youker said.
Youker said these recent changes made by city council will not change anything in the exception guidelines, which go into affect this fall. Also, it will not create any new bus-eligible areas.
