The Collin County Commissioners Court approved funding for various city road projects using the 2007 Discretionary Bond funds during its Oct. 20 meeting.

The city of Frisco submitted a funding request for road improvements to Gaylord Parkway and John Hickman Parkway.

Frisco Mayor Maher Maso, who spoke to the court during the meeting, said these road improvements will help support the major mixed-use development at Warren Parkway and Dallas Parkway that will include the multiuse events center and Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters.

"The projects listed for Frisco are significant in the multiuse facility being built, which will bring a lot of economic development to all of us," he said.

Another Frisco project the court approved is for intersection improvements at Lebanon Road and Dallas Parkway.

The two Frisco road projects combined total $3.15 million.

In total the court approved funding more than $18 million for 12 different road projects.
