The city of Frisco could cancel its May 10 election altogether if the three incumbents who have filed for re-election fail to draw opposition.

The deadline to file for a spot on the ballot is only a week away—Feb. 28. The mayor position and council places 5 (Tim Nelson) and 6 (Scott Johnson) are up for grabs.

There will be no special election this year. Frisco Council members on Feb. 18 decided not to call for a charter amendment election.

Frisco ISD

While there will be a $775 million bond referendum for Frisco ISD voters to decide on, the Board of Trustees election could be canceled if the two incumbents who have filed for re-election do not draw opponents.

Place 4 (Anne McCausland) and Place 5 (Debbie Gillespie) are up for election. The deadline for school board candidates to file is also Feb. 28.

Early voting is April 28-May 6.
