In August, Fieldhouse USA announced that it would be opening a second facility in Mansfield, but CEO Gary Oliver recently said there are also plans to open a third facility in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Both facilities would open in October 2016.

Both locations will feature basketball courts and volleyball courts. There will also be space for other sports including cheerleading, indoor soccer and athletic training.

Oliver said the two cities are both great locations to expand the sports facility. He said both cities have communities similar to Frisco and were both on his radar for some time.

“It’s a great opportunity for us and we feel like we’re ready to expand,” Oliver said. “We’re a community-based facility and the community has to support the facility. Even though we bring outside events and tournaments to kids, we have to be able to stay stable in the community.”
“We’re looking for cities that are fast growing, with young families with expendable incomes that can help and keep Fieldhouse stable."

Oliver said he and his staff tracked down some of the fastest-growing cities in the nation and those are the cities Fieldhouse USA approached.

“We’re looking for cities that are fast growing, with young families with expendable incomes that can help and keep Fieldhouse stable,” Oliver said.

For Council Bluffs, Oliver said it is a great opportunity because the city sits on the border of Omaha, where the college world series is hosted as well as some NCAA sporting events. Together, Council Bluffs and Omaha have more than 300,000 people, which is larger than Frisco and Mansfield.

"While the locations may seem out of the ordinary, both Council Bluffs and Mansfield have progressed quickly and were on our radar," Oliver said. "So when the cities made the decision to say yes, we moved forward."

As for the Frisco location, which opened seven years ago, will become the corporate office. Oliver said six more offices will be added as well as an additional conference room. Frisco will serve as the training site for new staff at the new locations.
