A 1,800-home residential development is coming next spring just north of the Frisco-Prosper border.

The development, which has been named Star Trail, will be along Dallas North Tollway's future northern expansion.

Star Trail will sit on nearly 900 acres of land and include some commercial development along the toll road, said Dena Compton-Devoto, director of Sales and Marketing for Blue Star Land.

The Gene and Jerry Jones family, Dallas Cowboys owners, own Blue Star Land and have other planned developments on all four corners of the Preston Road and US 380 intersection, including land in both Frisco and Prosper.

Compton-Devoto said the builder groups and lot prices have not been finalized yet for Star Trail. The goal is to have lots ready for construction by spring 2016, she said.

Blue Star Land is in the process now of designing the homeowner amenity package for the residential development, Compton-Devoto said.

The demand for homes in the Frisco area has increased with the growing population. Last year, the average Frisco home stayed on the market for less than two months.

In a previous article, Rex Real Estate owner Rex Glendenning said land along US 380, especially at the Dallas North Tollway intersection, is likely to become the next hotspot for development.
