Jimmy Buffett is returning to Frisco during Memorial Day weekend as part of his “I don’t Know” Tour 2016.
The concert will be for one night at 7 p.m. May 28 and will feature the Coral Reefer Band and special guest ZZ Top.
“The Jimmy Buffett concert here at Toyota Stadium has become one of our favorite weekends each year,” Dan Hunt, president of FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium, said in a statement. “We couldn’t be more excited to welcome the Parrothead Nation to Frisco once again in 2016. It’s more than just a concert; it’s an incredible party across our entire venue with fantastic tailgating.
Jimmy Buffett has been coming to Frisco since 2007, and this will be his ninth show at Toyota Stadium. The average concert attendance for each year is about 25,000 people, according to the Frisco Convention & Visitors Bureau.
CVB Executive Director Marla Roe said the estimated economic impact for this year is about $8 million for the region. However, she said that number could change because the concert is on Memorial Day weekend.
“Even though he’s here only one night, it becomes a weekend event,” Roe said. “Fans start coming in early to camp out and tailgate. It’ll be interesting to see how it will go this year because of the long weekend.”
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Jan. 22.
