1. Candidates file for Frisco City Council, Frisco ISD board of trustees
The deadline to file for Frisco City Council and Frisco ISD board of trustees was Friday, Feb. 16. On the city council, John Keating, K.D. Warach and Jason Money have filed for Place 1, and Will Sowell and David Bowsher have filed for Place 3.
On the board, John Classe has filed for Place 6, and René Archambault and Linda McConnell have filed for Place 7.
The general election will take place May 5.
2. City hosts town hall meeting
The city will host a town hall meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at Frisco City Hall, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd, Frisco. During the meeting, the city will make presentations regarding the council's top 10 priorities for 2018 and road construction. After the presentations, residents will be able to ask city staff and the mayor questions about the city.
3. Primary election early voting begins Tuesday
Feb. 20 is the first day registered voters can participate in early voting for the March 6 primary elections. Early voting extends until Friday, March 2. Click here for a list of contested races on the ballot in Frisco.
4. Frisco Economic Development Corporation vice president to resign
FEDC Vice President Dave Quinn is resigning. The city council will accept his resignation during the regular meeting Tuesday, and the FEDC board of directors will accept the resignation Wednesday. The FEDC is searching for a new president after former president Jim Gandy retired last year.
