1. Last day to register to vote
Monday is the last day to register to vote in the March 6 primary election. Statewide, county and district candidates will be on the ballot.

2. UNIDOS meeting Monday night
Hosted by the McKinney Police Department with support from the city of McKinney, UNIDOS is a Hispanic community outreach program in McKinney. 3. February Community Impact Newspaper issue hits mailboxes this week
Community Impact Newspaper’s McKinney edition will be delivered to mailboxes starting Tuesday. The February edition includes our primary election guide listing candidates in contested races, a lead story about hiring struggles in McKinney and a dining feature about The Donut Kitchen.

4. City Council votes to provide funding for the airport land acquisition project
McKinney City Council will consider amending the Fiscal Year 2017-18 budget and the 2018-22 Capital Improvement Program to provide funding for the McKinney National Airport land acquisition project. If approved, $3 million will be reallocated from the fund balance to fund the land acquisition project, according to city documents.
At the meeting, council will also consider offering an internship program within the city and McKinney business community.
The meeting will take place Tuesday at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 222 N. Tennessee St. More information about the meeting can be found on the city’s website.
5. Resident involvement meeting
A PRIDE meeting, or promoting resident involvement, development and enthusiasm, will be held Thursday for neighborhoods without a formal homeowners association. The goal of the meeting is to create move involved neighborhoods between residents and the city. Activities will include revitalization efforts, community engagement and planning.
