1. PISD board of trustees to consider procedure, timeline for hiring new district superintendent
The Plano ISD board of trustees will consider the procedure for hiring a new superintendent to Plano ISD, as well as an associated timeline at their regular meeting Tuesday evening.
PISD spokesperson Lesley Range-Stanton said the district has brought on a search firm in the past for recruiting a new superintendent. Details about potentially contracting with a search firm have not been determined yet, Range-Stanton said.
The vacancy for the position came after the abrupt resignation of former Superintendent Brian Binggeli in November 2017.
Sara Bonser has been serving as interim superintendent as trustees finalize plans to recruit a new candidate for the position.
Tuesday's meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the PISD Administration Building, 2700 W. 15th St.
2. Site of previously proposed Mustang Square development to go before Plano P&Z for new rezone request, plans for mixed-use development
A rezoning request and proposed site plan for a new mixed-use development for a 46-acre plot of land at the southwest corner of SH 121 and Rasor Boulevard will go before the Plano Planning and Zoning Commission Monday evening.
The proposal highlights plans to include a food truck park, as well as townhomes, office space, restaurant and retail space, a community theater and an assembly hall.
The same plot of land went before the Plano City Council in February 2017 for a separate proposed mixed-use development, but failed to receive the necessary votes to approve the rezoning request.
Residents responded in droves for the previous project—submitting over 1,000 responses to the zoning request, as previously reported by Community Impact Newspaper.
