The Texas Education Agency released the 2018-19 accountability ratings for school districts across the state Aug. 15. Conroe ISD received a B for its work during the 2018-19 school year with its 62,577 students and 59 campuses.

Of those 59 schools, 21 received an A, 24 received a B, 10 received a C and two received a D. The Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program, the Juvenile Detention Center and ninth-grade campuses were not graded.



Overall grades for campuses are calculated based on the school’s performance in three domains: Student Achievement, School Progress and Closing the Gaps, according to the TEA. Here is how the district ranked in each domain:

Student Achievement: B
This rating is based on how much students know and how well they do at the end of the school year. CISD earned 89 out of 100, the same as last year.

School Progress: B
This rating is determined based on how well students do over time and how the school itself is growing. CISD earned 89 out of 100, one point higher than last year.

Closing the Gaps: B
This rating shows how different populations in the student body are performing. CISD earned 88 out of 100, one point lower than last year.
