Batter Up! An Evening with Carlos Correa

Honorary Chairman: Scott McClelland, President H-E-B Batter Up! An Evening with Carlos Correa will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Union Station at Minute Maid Park. All proceeds support Camp Aranzazu’s mission to support children and adults with special needs and chronic illnesses throughout Texas. This past year has been a year unlike any other, filled with great uncertainty and challenges. Support of Batter Up! An Evening with Carlos Correa will allow our staff to continue providing much-needed fun following isolation that many of our campers have experienced over the past year. The program will include a conversation with the Houston Astros’ All Star shortstop and team leader regarding not only his record-breaking baseball career but also his efforts to support children with cancer and communities affected by natural disasters. We also will honor Denise Hazen, whose creativity and commitment have impacted Houston’s entire autism community. Upon arrival, guests can bid on travel experiences and sports-themed items in our silent auction as they wait for dinner and enjoy views of the field at Minute Maid Park. Health and safety protocols may be implemented in order to ensure that everyone can enjoy the events, feeling safe and comfortable. Event registration is available at www.camparanzazu.org/events/batter-up. Underwriting opportunities benefits include dinner, public recognition, a table at the event, and more depending on the underwriting level. Tables range from $2,500 to $50,000. Individual seats will be made available later this fall. Camp Aranzazu is a 104-acre, barrier-free camp in Rockport, Texas. The camp’s mission is to enrich the lives of children and adults with chronic illnesses and special needs by providing unique camping, environmental education and retreat experiences. Since 2006, almost 27,500 children and adults from more than 50 counties in Texas have benefited from the camp’s unique form of recreational therapy.
