Book Signing: ‘The Hungry Lady and the Bear’

Book Signing: ‘The Hungry Lady and the Bear’

EVENT DETAILS

Clear Lake author Rhys Griffin and Louisville illustrator Rachel Joanna, who both have autism, will sign copies of their new children’s book 1-4 p.m. Saturday, June 12, at 2014 Bissonnet St. in Houston, 77005. “The Hungry Lady and the Bear” is a twist on fairy tales about princesses who live harmoniously with woodland creatures. The protagonist, intent on tracking down the main ingredient in her “bear claw” recipe, learns a lesson or two from the animals she shares the woods with. Griffin and Joanna completed “The Hungry Lady and the Bear,” (Orange Hat Publishing) with support and sponsorship from Spectrum Fusion, a Houston nonprofit that empowers adults on the autism spectrum to reach their full potential. The book signing and meet and greet will be held at Spectrum Fusion’s new Houston offices. Several other creative adults and entrepreneurs on the autism spectrum will attend, too. Noah Mishael will be available to create action-figure sculptures, and visitors can check out Jewelry by Sable and the new Timeless Treats line for dogs. Copies of “The Hungry Lady and the Bear” will be available to purchase ($11.99 paperback; $14.99 for hardcover), along with artistic designs by Joanna. “The Hungry Lady and the Bear” is also available at https://www.orangehatpublishing.com/bookstore.
