“LT Senior Services Seminar Series” Monthly Seminars Educate Austin Older Adult Homeowners
October Topic: Communicating with your Adult Children

(September 15, 2019 Austin): Are you prepared for the next evolution in your relationship with your adult children? Relationships evolve and change just like people, but navigating those changes aren’t always easy. Complex family dynamics, blended families, and changing social norms impact both the choices we make how we communicate them. Join us for a poignant and candid conversation concerning communicating with adult children as you age.

Industry specialists will provide information and tips on how to communicate with your adult children. Norma J. Perez, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist with over fifteen years of experience. She obtained her PhD at the University of Rhode Island and completed her Clinical Fellowship at Brown University. She has a private practice in Lakeway and provides individual and couples psychotherapy. Additionally, she does psychological assessments and neurocognitive assessments to assess for dementia. Ariel Goward, LCSW-S ,C-ASWCM, TxCG Geriatric Case Manager knew early on that she enjoyed working with seniors and helping others. She received her undergraduate degree in Social Work from Georgia State University. While working on her degree she also received a Certificate in Gerontology. After graduating Ariel went to The University of Georgia where she earned her Masters of Social Work degree. Carlye Levine, LCSW-S, C-ASWCM is the Clinical Director at Austin Vitality Counseling. She received her BSW from The University of Texas at Austin and her MSSW from Columbia University in the city of New York. She is a member of NASW (National Association of Social Workers), Vice President of GASW (Greater Austin Social Workers), and is VP of Parent Reps and Volunteers at Balcones Youth Sports.

These topics, along with others, will be presented in the upcoming LT Senior Services Aging Adult Seminar Series. Adults 55+, seniors, and caregivers are invited to attend the free events to learn the actual facts about issues related post-retirement topics in the Austin area.

This series of candid conversations and expert panel discussions about the unique and often complex issues facing long-time homeowners is to be moderated by Cyndi Cummings CSHP, SRES, CSA, considered a leading authority on issues related to downsizing, later-life relocation and (55+) senior living solutions in Austin.

The seminar will be held Monday, October 7th from 10:30-12 PM at the Lake Travis Community Library (1938 Lohmans Crossing Rd. Lakeway, TX 78734).
