As a celebration of filmmakers on the rise, the Emergencia Youth Film Competition represents a special section of the festival showcasing works by filmmakers 19 years of age or younger. The lineup represents a selection of fourteen titles from the USA and abroad. The films are eligible for an audience award for “Best Emergencia Youth Film.” Free & open to the public June 11, 2022 at 11:30am, Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center (MACC) Reception to follow screening CLICK HERE for program details About the 24th Cine Las Americas International Film Festival (CLAIFF24): The 24th annual Cine Las Americas International Film Festival (CLAIFF24) will take place June 8-12, 2022 in Austin, TX, USA. The upcoming edition will mark a long-anticipated return to in-theater screenings. CLAIFF continues its mission to showcase films and videos from Latin America (North, Central, South America, and the Caribbean) and the Iberian Peninsula. Films and videos made by or about Latinxs in the U.S. or the rest of the world, as well as films and videos by or about Indigenous groups of the Americas are also featured. About Cine Las Americas (CLA): Cine Las Americas (CLA) is a multi-cultural, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Austin Texas, offering theatrical screenings of films made by and/or about Latinos or Indigenous peoples of the Americas. Films from Spain and Portugal are also included, enhancing a truly Pan-American cinematic experience.
