Locally owned Jaya Furniture to close March 28

Jaya Furniture, located at 902 N. Lamar Blvd., Austin, will close March 28. The adjacent warehouse will remain open through the month of May. The closure is due to hikes in rental and tax rates and increasing online competition, according to co-owner Jackie Hook. Toys R Us closing all stores nationwide, including Brodie Oaks location

Toys R Us has announced plans to liquidate its inventory and shut down all 735 of its nationwide locations, including one store in South Austin in the Brodie Oaks Shopping Center at 4025 S.
