Public hearing on Fort Bend mobility projects scheduled

$217 million mobility bond issue being discussed for November ballot

Later this month, the public will have a chance to review transportation projects being considered for a possible November bond issue. The Fort Bend County Commissioners Court voted Tuesday to hold a workshop July 25 at 1 p.m.

The workshop will take place in the commissioners courtroom at 401 Jackson St., Richmond. At that time, the public can comment on individual projects and the entire $217 million bond referendum being considered for a November election.

Benefit concert
Listen to a mix of Motown, funk and smooth jazz from Collector’s Item at the Sugar Land Town Square, and learn about Caiden’s Hope, a Houston-area charity helping to pay the extraneous costs families incur while traveling to be with a baby during a hospital stay. Snow cones will be for sale with half the proceeds donated to Caiden’s Hope Foundation. Tennis tournament
Missouri City hosts a mixed doubles tennis tournament Saturday morning. Players in eighth grade and older are welcome to play in this tournament, which will be held in a round-robin format. Shred the Past at Sienna Plantation
Sienna Plantation hosts a paper-shredding event on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. The public is invited to bring junk mail, old paperwork and any other paper documents for shredding to the Village of Sawmill Lake.
