On June 17, area residents will be able to view updated maps and plans for the ongoing Oak Hill Parkway environmental study to address long-term congestion at the Y at Oak Hill where Hwy. 290 and Hwy. 71 intersect.

About a year has passed since initial project ideas were introduced to the public for consideration and feedback. The proposed concepts for potential projects been refined and narrowed down based on public input received during the past several months, as well as other criteria, according to Melissa Hurst, community outreach manager with the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority.

Attendees can look at each concept, talk with Texas Department of Transportation representatives and ask questions of the project team, as well as provide comments about the plans. Revised mobility concepts involving elements of Options 1 and 2 will be available for review at the event, Hurst said. She explained community members wanted to see the project extend past Circle Drive, and the Mobility Authority talked with Austin Community College about providing a better connection for ACC students.

"The concepts being presented will incorporate both of those options from now on," Hurst said. "We've done the necessary work to confirm that these are needed improvements and they will be built into the concepts as we move through the process."

The event will take place June 17 from 4–7 p.m. in the Covington Middle School cafeteria, 3700 Convict Hill Rd. People who cannot attend can provide comments online from June 18–27. More information is available at www.oakhillparkway.com.
