The city of Austin partnered with the Texas Department of Transportation to deliver phases of safety improvements at and near the intersection of Slaughter Lane and Manchaca Road. A new traffic signal at the intersection of Manchaca and Monarch Drive is now operational, and construction of medians was recently completed on Manchaca at Slaughter. The transportation department expects to begin rebuilding the signal at Slaughter and Manchaca this month with construction lasting approximately three months. Designs of medians and shared-use paths on Slaughter at Manchaca are also being finalized, and construction is scheduled for early 2018.
