Weight Watchers is opening a Southwest Austin location Sept. 17 in the Sunset Valley Homestead shopping center.[/caption]

Weight-loss company Weight Watchers is opening its first Southwest Austin store in the Sunset Valley Homestead shopping center Saturday, and the store is inviting the public to a grand opening event.

At the event, the public can take a look at the new store, listen to members share stories about achieving their goals, participate in activities, taste food samples and meet a mentor, all for free, said Shannon Wayman, Weight Watchers central Texas territory manager.

The grand opening will take place from 1-5 p.m. Saturday at the new Weight Watchers store, located at 5207 Brodie Lane, Ste. 145, Sunset Valley.
