More residents in Southwest Austin will soon be able to take advantage of delivery service app Favor. Here's more information on the Favor expansion and more for community members to keep in mind as they head into the week:

  • Toll company asks customers to check their bill for errors


A slew of erroneous invoices and violations issued through TxTag's tollway accounts has led the company to request its customers check their toll bills for mistakes. If an error is found, customers are encouraged to call the tolling agency that issued the tag. The agency will then dispute on the customer's behalf to resolve any issues.

    Austin's mayor wants to tackle homelessness with tourism dollars


Last week Austin Mayor Steve Adler announced plans to add a 1 percent tax to the bill of Austin hotel customers to fund housing and resources for the city's homeless population. An increase in the hotel occupancy tax from 15 to 17 percent is also on Adler's radar as a means to mitigate the issue.

    Favor expands service to Austin's outskirts, adds restaurants


Favor's delivery zone will be expanded to include a number of surrounding cities and communities, including Bee Cave, Manchaca and Bluff Springs, the company announced last week. The expansion will allow for additional restaurants to also be added to the app.

    Papalote Taco House coming to South Congress


Austin's third area Papalote Taco House location is slated to open in the former Lulu B's restaurant on South Congress Avenue in the first or second week of August, according to the restaurant's owner, Sergio Valera. Papalote serves dishes popular in south-central Mexico.
