1. Aquarena Springs Drive overpass
The city of San Marcos is partnering with the Texas Department of Transportation to construct an overpass on Aquarena Springs Drive in San Marcos over the Union Pacific Corp. railroad tracks. When completed, the overpass will feature two travel lanes in each direction as well as access roads—or “Bobcat lanes”—on both sides of the overpass.

2. Goforth Road improvements
Work on Goforth Road, which will be expanded to include two lanes in some areas and three lanes in others between I-35 and Bunton Creek Road, began in April in Kyle. The project timeline calls for the storm drain to be built between the Plum Creek crossing and Bunton Creek Road by July 22. The next deadline calls for the road section between Brent Boulevard and Bunton Creek Road to be built by Aug. 27.

3. I-35 frontage road repaving
In June, TxDOT awarded a contract to Austin Materials Inc. to repave San Marcos’ southbound I-35 frontage road from Hwy. 123 to Wonder World Drive.

4. FM 150 improvements
In June, TxDOT awarded a contract to Relmco Inc. to add sidewalks and bicycle lanes to the span of FM 150 in Kyle from Center Street to Silverado Drive.

5. Hwy. 123 overpass
TxDOT is building an overpass on Hwy. 123 over Wonder World Drive in San Marcos. As of early July, the contractor had completed construction of access roads on either side of the new overpass and was working on building retaining walls and bridge columns.
