Hays CISD passes budget of nearly $250M for 2020-21 school year

With uncertainty of what the new school year looks like because of coronavirus, the Hays CISD board of trustees unanimously passed a budget that begins July 1 and goes through 2020-21 school year.

Hays County reports 160 new coronavirus cases June 22, more than 1,300 in two weeks

After 57 new coronavirus cases Saturday and 103 reported in Hays County on Sunday, new cases on June 22 rose to 160.



Overall, the county now has 1,871 confirmed cases with 1,477 considered active. Hays County has tested 7,795 residents and 14 are currently hospitalized. Five have died from coronavirus.

San Marcos cancels Summer Fun, Discovery camps due to increased COVID-19 cases

In response to the recent increase in new coronavirus case counts in Hays County, the San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department has canceled the Summer Fun and Discovery camps.

Both camps had sessions scheduled to start July 13, but these programs are now canceled for the year, according to a June 22 press release from the city.
