February saw 164 homes sold in San Marcos, Kyle and Buda, which totaled a 12.3 percent year-over-year increase, according to data released today by the Austin Board of Realtors.

Prices of homes sold also increased 12.3 percent over February 2016. The price per square foot was up 5.9 percent to $123/sq. ft. over February 2016.

The Austin-Round Rock metropolitan statistical area's average home price continues to outpace that of San Marcos, Kyle and Buda, which is closer to the state average sales price.

Home prices in San Marcos, Buda and Kyle made a higher percentage jump than in the Austin-Round Rock MSA or in the state.

Home sales increased 12.3 percent in San Marcos, Buda and Kyle, which outpaced the rest of the Austin-Round Rock MSA and the state.

New home construction in February was down in San Marcos, Buda and Kyle as well as the Austin MSA and the state.

The average price of existing homes is lower in San Marcos, Kyle and Buda than in the Austin Metropolitan Statistical Area or in the state of Texas.

But the price of existing homes in San Marcos, Buda and Kyle saw a higher percentage jump than in other areas.

New home construction sales prices in February in San Marcos, Buda and Kyle were about $27,000 more than existing home sales prices.


San Marcos, Buda and Kyle saw the highest percentage increase in the year-over-year sales price of new construction homes.
