Early voting begins Dec. 1 in the San Marcos and Buda runoff elections.

In San Marcos, voters will choose between John Thomaides and Ruben Becerra in the mayoral race. Voters will also choose between Shane Scott and Saul Gonzales in the City Council Place 2 race. Jason Dalton Montgomery and Ed Mihalkanin will face off in the race for City Council Place 3.

In Buda, John Hatch and Lee Urbanovsky will face off in the City Council Place 1 race.

Voters in San Marcos and Buda may cast their ballots at any polling location in their respective cities during early voting but must vote at their precinct's designated polling location on election day, Dec. 13. For a full list of polling locations, click here.

Santa Claus arrives in downtown Kyle on Wednesday.

The city of Kyle kicks off the Christmas season by hosting Santa downtown. Santa and the mayor will turn on the decorative lights downtown, and choirs sing carols. Santa is available for pictures. The event begins at 4 p.m. in downtown Kyle.

Bunton Creek Road will be closed for construction Nov. 28-Dec. 26.

Construction to rebuild Bunton Creek Road, one of the five roads in the city that will be repaired through a 2013 voter-approved bond issuance, will force the closure of the road’s eastbound lanes from the I-35 frontage road to the Kyle Fire Department Station No. 2. Eastbound drivers are encouraged to take Kyle Parkway to Dacy Lane to access Bunton Creek Road.
