Capital of Texas Police Motorcycle Chute Out
The fourth annual event is a combined effort among eight local law-enforcement agencies, including the Austin Police Department, Buda Police Department, Hays County Sheriff’s Office, Kyle Police Department, Lakeway Police Department, Round Rock Police Department, Travis County Sheriff’s Office and Williamson County Sheriff’s Office. 32nd Annual Great Texas River Clean Up
For over 30 years, people have gathered on the first Saturday in March and helped pick up trash from all 90 miles of the San Marcos River. Claiming it holds the world’s longest river cleanup, the group will focus on beautifying the upper part of the river and its banks. 9:30 a.m.-noon (bank cleanup), all day (cleanup via canoe). Free. Middleton Brewing Co. 5K Beer Run
The event is the first in the Texas 5K 6-pack Beer Challenge and starts and finishes at Middleton Brewing Co. The 3.1-mile loop is scenic, and participants receive a shirt, beer tastings and a custom finisher pint glass. Food trucks are on-site. Shawn Fagan, farmer and owner of Kyle’s Fagan Family Farms, will teach students about growing tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash and other seasonal produce. Prizes will be given out.
