Ahead of the start of the Triple-A baseball season, Dell Diamond has been announced as the Texas Rangers' alternate training site. The Rangers will send 20-28 players who were not included in the team's opening day roster to Dell Diamond for continual training for the 2021 Minor League Baseball season, per a March 23 Round Rock Express news release.

The selected Rangers players will participate in training workouts at Dell Diamond beginning in early April, while the Rangers will celebrate opening day April 1. The Round Rock Express will celebrate the kickoff of the 2021 season with a May 6 home game against the Oklahoma City Dodgers.

“Many of the players that will report to Dell Diamond in April will likely be members of the Express at some point in 2021, so for them to be able to familiarize themselves with this great ballpark and the city of Round Rock will be a huge benefit as we head into the summer," Round Rock Express General Manager Tim Jackson said in the release.

A plan is currently in the works for fans to attend certain workouts, scrimmages and exhibition games for both the Express and the Rangers, per the release. Additional information on the Rangers' alternate training site will be released in the coming days.

Dell Diamond will continue to serve as a COVID-19 vaccination hub alongside its operations as the Rangers' alternate training site. More information on the vaccination hub is available here.
