The Pflugerville Community Development Corporation announced in a news release Wednesday the election of Ken D’Alfonso as president of the PCDC Board of Directors.

D’Alfonso will serve as PCDC board president through January when the annual elections are held, according to the new release. The new president was appointed to the PCDC board by the Pflugerville City Council in January 2016.

“Ken’s previous experience in senior base leadership and business, coupled with his active role in community organizations provide a great foundation for the mission and goals of our economic development organization,” said PCDC Executive Director Amy Madison.

D’Alfonso is involved with several other community groups, including the Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce, Pflugerville Rotary Club, Pflugerville ISD Foundation Board and District Academic Advisory Council and the American Legion.

According to the release, D’Alfonso has more than two decades of active duty service with the U.S. Air Force. D’Alfonso retired from active duty in 2014.

Jim Swanzy, the previous president of the PCDC Board of Directors, submitted his resignation to Pflugerville City Council June 26. At the time, Swanzy cited family obligations as the driving force behind his resignation.
