The city of Pflugerville has been named a gold star affiliate by Keep Texas Beautiful, a statewide nonprofit aimed at environmental and community improvement efforts, according to an April 22 city news release.

Pflugerville was one of 57 Texas communities recognized by the organization for its contributions to environmental conservation efforts.

Nearly 300 Texas communities are affiliates of KTB, per the release, with gold star status marking the highest membership recognition of KTB affiliates.

Efforts made by Pflugerville city employees include educational and volunteer programs, such as Arbor Day tree plantings, Nature Pfest and Adopt-a-Trail, per the release.

Pflugerville also partners with and receives support from area community organizations, including Pflugerville ISD, Rotary Club, FedEx, Dell and local businesses, according to the release.


The Pflugerville community spent a total of 14,357 hours volunteering in 2019, per the release.

The Keep Pflugerville Beautiful committee is made up of city parks and recreation and public works staff members.
