The Pflugerville Council of Neighborhood Associations will sponsor Landscaping: Best Low-water Plants from 7-8:30 p.m. tonight. The event will be at the Pflugerville Justice Center, 1611 Pfennig Lane.

The speaker will be Drop-by-Drop manager Eddie Garcia. All PfCONA members and neighborhood leaders are invited to attend.

Garcia will discuss solutions to high water rates and landscaping costs, including the choice of plants that use low amounts of water.

Drop-by-Drop offers up to a $500 rebate to Pflugerville residents and water customers for landscaping improvements meeting the program guidelines.

Potential advantages to participating in the program include:

  • less maintenance time in the yard;

  • reduced need for costly fertilizers and pesticides, which can pollute water resources;

  • attracting hummingbirds and butterflies; and

  • increased control of the amount of water needed by plantings.
