The Round Rock Police Dept. has ruled Sgt. Craig Hutchinson's death a suicide.

Hutchinson's death had been investigated since late July when a single shell casing was discovered near his body. Hutchison, who was a Travis County Sheriff's Office deputy and lived in Round Rock, radioed in a burglary on his property prior to the incident on July 25, according to officials.

Round Rock Police said all fingerprints at the scene were identified as Hutchinson's.

Round Rock Police Chief Alan Banks had announced earlier in the week that the shell found came from Hutchinson's weapon. However, he did not say definitively who had fired the weapon.

The toxicology report showed the only drug in his system was ibuprofen. Furthermore, KVUE on Friday reported, Hutchinson had a history of depression, anxiety and and was prescribed anti-depressants in 2015, but those  were not found in his system.

Judge Bill Gravell Jr., Justice of the Peace Williamson County Pct. 3, said RRPD worked tirelessly on the investigation, putting in hundreds of hours, and interviewed countless witnesses.
