Round Rock City Council will vote Dec. 6 on whether to extend alcohol serving hours to 2 a.m. for all bars and restaurants in the city.

The current ordinance only permits bars and restaurants within city limits to serve alcohol until midnight Sunday through Friday and until 1 a.m. on Saturday with the exception of business that fall within Travis County, which are permitted to serve alcohol until 2 a.m.

Round Rock voters Nov. 6 approved a local option election to allow all bars and restaurants within the city to serve liquor. The initiative was approved by 81 percent of the total votes.

City Council will vote on the ordinance at its 6 p.m. regular meeting Dec. 6.
