Texas Book Festival
One of the top book festivals in the country, the Texas Book Festival is held in in front of the state Capitol building in downtown Austin. Wurstfest
Touted as one of the best Oktoberfest celebrations in the country, Wurstfest, the annual New Braunfels festival that celebrates the area’s German heritage, kicks off this weekend and runs through Nov. 13. Wurstfest is located approximately 68 miles southwest of Round Rock. 4-11:30 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.-midnight Saturday, 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Sunday. $10 for adults, children age 12 and under are free. 120 Landa St., New Braunfels. 830-625-9167.

Sound on Sound Fest
