Residents will be able to review and offer feedback on three options the city of Austin is considering for Spicewood Springs Road as part of its 2016 Mobility Bond.

The bond is allocating $17 million for the design and construction of improvements on the roadway between Loop 360 and Mesa Drive. Construction is slated to begin in 2022.

Feedback from residents will help city staffers finalize which option to pursue and begin the design phase this fall, said Emily Tuttle, spokeswoman for the Austin Transportation Department.

The open house-style meeting is from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 29 at Westover Hills Church of Christ, 8332 Mesa Drive, Austin.

At the first open house meeting in September 2017, the city gathered input from residents on what issues they experience when driving on Spicewood Springs and used that information during the preliminary engineering phase.

The release of the draft recommendations was delayed earlier this year while city staffers gathered more traffic modeling data and conducted a cultural resource survey to rule out the existence of any archaeological items in the project’s limits.

For those unable to attend the meeting, the city will post all exhibits from the open house for public review online at www.austintexas.gov/spicewoodspringsrd. Feedback may be submitted online from Aug. 30-Sept. 14.
