North Austin residents no longer have to drive as far for a Double Double or Animal Style burger. In-N-Out Burger opens another area location today in the Tech Ridge Center. Here are three things to know about the newest location.

1. You can choose drive-thru or dine-in.

The restaurant is located at 12431 N. I-35 next to My Fit Foods. The center is just south of Parmer Lane off the northbound I-35 frontage road.

The new In-N-Out has one drive-thru lane and seating for 77 customers, according to a company news release. In-N-Out is open Sunday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m.-1 a.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 a.m.

About 50 employees work at the new location, which is headed by Kevin Alvarado, a 13-year In-N-Out veteran.

2. This is the burger chain’s sixth Austin-area location.

The first location opened Dec. 3, 2013 in Round Rock followed by an Austin location at 4508 N. I-35 on Dec. 12, 2013. A Cedar Park location opened in April 2014. In November 2015, the burger chain opened its fourth area location at 3701 S. Lamar Blvd., Austin.

The Tech Ridge location is the second In-N-Out to open in 2016. In June, the company opened its fifth area restaurant, and first in Hays County, in San Marcos.

The company’s website indicates two more locations are planned for the region at 2700 Guadalupe St., Austin, near The University of Texas and 1600 Town Center Drive, Pflugerville, near the SH 45 N and SH 130 interchange, according to In-N-Out’s website.

3. A warehouse and production facility in Dallas serves all of the Texas locations.

Harry Snyder opened the first In-N-Out in 1948 as California’s first drive-thru hamburger stand. The company still makes its burgers and shakes to order using fresh ingredients, according to a news release.

The Dallas facility ensures Texas locations use products that are not frozen. The company reports its fries are hand diced from whole potatoes, and patties are made with 100 percent American beef.
