The city of Austin is continuing its series of conversations with residents on how to improve pedestrian safety on city streets and grow the city’s bicycle network.

At several upcoming meetings, staffers from the Austin Transportation Department will discuss the city’s Pedestrian Safety Action Plan to improve the safety of people walking along Austin streets. Residents will also be able to share their concerns about walking throughout the city and learn more about the city’s Bicycle Master Plan.

Vision Zero Input MapIn early March, the city launched a new Vision Zero Input Map that allows residents to note concerns about walking, biking, riding a bicycle or driving on an interactive map. Residents will also be able to add points of concern on the Vision Zero map at the Walk+Bike talks.

Vision Zero is the city’s master plan that aims to eliminate traffic-related deaths and serious injuries by 2025.

For anyone unable to attend a meeting in person, a virtual open house is available online through April 15. For more information, visit www.austintexas.gov/activetransportation.
