1. Keep Aging Weird luncheon The Capital City Village fundraiser features speaker Dr. Mark Hernandez, chief medical officer for the Community Care Collaborative. Fall Bash fundraiser Capital Area Parkinson’s Society hosts its second annual fundraiser to support the nonprofit’s mission of addressing needs of local residents living with Parkinson’s disease. The event includes cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, an auction, a raffle and music by Austin-based band Top Choice. 6-10 p.m. $75. World Vision Experience Bethany United Methodist Church hosts the Austin-area stop of this interactive exhibit Thursday through Sunday. It raises awareness of sex trafficking, the world refugee crisis and the need to protect vulnerable children. Rundberg trick or treat5. Rundberg trick-or-treat safe zone North Austin schools, partners and dozens of businesses support a trick-or-treat safe zone in the Rundberg area Friday. Trick or treaters may obtain a map of participating businesses and locations from any Rundberg area school, the YMCA or the recreation center. If students visit four sites they are entered into a raffle drawing. Harmony Science Academy, 930 E. Rundberg Lane, Austin, also hosts a fall festival 6-8 p.m. with bounce houses, games, food vendors and a trunk or treat. Successful Smiles operates a mobile unit to provide free preventive dental care and X-rays to uninsured students. The fall festival is free to attend, and raffle tickets for games are $0.50 for or $10 for 25. Food and drinks are available for purchase. 6-8 p.m. Free. 6. Round Rock ISD fall event For any Northwest Austin students who attend Round Rock ISD, students are invited to the inaugural Trek or Treat 5K/Trunk or Treat event at the Dell Diamond and Old Settler’s Park in Round Rock. Activities include face painting, a bounce house, carnival games, concessions and music. Trunk or Treat festivities are throughout the evening, and the Trek or Treat 5K Fun Run/Walk begins at 6 p.m. Runners race to complete the 5K-course without being infected by zombies. Proceeds from the event benefit Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation, the Round Rock Police Department and Operation Blue Santa. 4-7 p.m. $15-$75 (5K).
