The Texas Department of Transportation will host a ribbon cutting for an $11.6-million overpass on Hwy. 123 in San Marcos on March 20.
The project was constructed to address safety and mobility, TxDOT spokesperson Kelli Reyna said. In the five years leading up to the start of construction in early 2015, there were 28 reported crashes at the intersection, according to TxDOT statistics obtained through a public information request.
The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. at the northwest corner of Hwy. 123 and Wonder World.
The project began in March 2015 to construct a four-lane overpass—with two lanes in each direction—on Hwy. 123 over Wonder World.
