Pflugerville City Council appointed five new members to the seven-member Pflugerville Community Development Corp. board Nov. 17 in a special meeting during which appointments were made to several other city boards and committees.

"We are very exited to work with the new appointees on the board and at the same time want to send our gratitude and thanks for the many hours and years of dedication of our prior board," PCDC Interim Director Amy Madison said. "It's a great position for us to be in to have so many capable leaders in the city of Pflugerville who can step up and lead our corporation."

Madison said Pflugerville City Council annually reviews the PCDC board to see if new appointments need to be made.

The new PCDC board members are City Council Member Wayne Cooper and residents James Swanzy, Ken Dalfonso, Ron Agnew and Jeff Thompson, according to city documents. George Cudd and Board President Doug Weiss were the only current board members to be reappointed.

"I'm excited the council has confidence in the leadership I have provided," Weiss said of his reappointment.

During the special meeting, decisions were also made regarding the city's Finance and Budget Committee, Planning and Zoning Commission, Library Board, Parks and Recreation Commission and Board of Adjustment, according to city documents.
