Owners Hamed Ibrahim and Nasser Trosich grew up together and said they consider each other family.

Trosich, who has been in the restaurant business for about 20 years, suggested the two open a restaurant. Ibrahim, who had until recently owned a vending company, said he was ready for a change, and he took Trosich up on his offer.

Almarah Mediterranean Grill opened its doors June 1. Although the restaurant is still new to the area, Ibrahim said business has been good, and the establishment has garnered many positive reviews on websites such as Yelp and Nextdoor.com.

“That brought us a lot of business,” he said.

Trosich, the previous owner of Mediterranean restaurant Arpeggio on Airport Boulevard, oversees the kitchen while Ibrahim runs the dining room.

Ibrahim said every menu item is made fresh, and he and Trosich buy many items the morning before they open the restaurant for the day.

“The food is like an art,” Trosich said.
